5 Questions to Ask Before You Book Any Event Manager

Deepak Nair · Logistics Manager·

We've sat across the table from thousands of families and companies planning an event for the first time. The ones who walk away happiest almost always asked the same five questions upfront.

1. "What exactly is included in this quote?"

Ask for an itemised breakdown, not a lump sum. A good planner should be able to tell you exactly what changes if your guest count moves by 50, or if you add a function.

2. "Who is my single point of contact?"

You should have one dedicated manager, not a rotating cast. If a company can't name that person before you sign, that's a signal.

3. "What happens if a vendor cancels the week of the event?"

Good planners have backup vendors on standby for catering, decor and sound. Ask them to walk you through what happened the last time a vendor fell through.

4. "Can I see full events, not just highlight reels?"

Anyone can show you their best 30 photos. Ask to see a full portfolio, or better, speak to a past client directly.

5. "What is the payment schedule, in writing?"

Advance, milestone payments, and final balance should all be dated and documented before any decor gets ordered — for your protection as much as theirs.

Feel free to ask us all five — our proposals are itemised by default and every quote comes with our team's direct contact.
